Damage & Rehab - Heel Spurs

Skador & rehab - Hälsporre

Julia Gustafsson |

Heel spurs may be due to different things, but usually it is due to an overload in the foot or that you have run a lot on hard surfaces - which does not make it an unusual condition for paddle players.

The symptoms for heel spur and heel are equal and often heel is an early symptom of just health, although it does not need to develop it. Health spurs feel like pain under the foot, often closer to the heel, but is due to inflammation after an overload in the tissue. Both heel and health spurs can be prevented and treated and thus shorten the involuntary rest you are away from the paddle.

Flowlife flowgun go 2.0 massage gun (Available in both green & blue)

An alternative for preventing and/or treating heel and heel spur is through massage. In addition, it provides direct pain relief!
With flowlife flowgun go 2.0 massage you can mass massage your heel and foot sole. It has five different vibration levels that stimulate connective tissue, increase blood circulation and detach trigger points by emitting up to 3200 beats per minute.

Flowgun go 2.0 includes 6 massage heads with various intended uses. Just for the heel, "Round Head" & "Silicon Round Head" is suitable.

In addition to point massage, you can also prevent heel spurs with exercises that strengthen the foot and of course avoid overloading, better known as "rest".          Prehab - Even though you are not damaged and painful, it is recommended to continuously stretch, massage and build up the muscles to prepare your body for the challenges of life and future paddle matches.

But worth noting - A heel spur that does not heal or go over may need to be examined by a specialist.
